All Dental Practices are businesses as well as professions. We have running costs that include;
Rates, Water, Gas, Electricity, Staff Wages, Stationary, Materials, Equipment, Servicing, Accountancy Fees and
 the upkeep of the building.

We also have a number of hidden costs. To make the Practice a safe place for you and the staff, we have the sterilisation costs of our instruments and equipment, and our waste materials and chemicals must be disposed of safely to protect the environment.

To provide you with safe, up to date Dental treatment, we must comply with regulations.

Hygienist

The role of the hygienist is to treat and / or prevent gum disease. Once areas of inflammation and plaque accumulation are identified alternative methods of tooth brushing and the introduction of floss and interdental brushes can be introduced to treat any problems and prevent reoccurrence. The removal of stain and tartar deposits also help to restore gum health and improve aesthetics.

The Hygienist may also fissure seal teeth

Capitation Systems

These schemes are becoming more popular as the availability of NHS Dentistry declines. Basically the patient and dentist agree on treatment requirements and the dentist will provide these for a fixed monthly fee.

Details should be discussed with the dentist as the contact can be arranged to suit an individual. For example you might decide only to cover routine preventative treatments like scaling and polishing and pay for any fillings as required, or you may choose to cover every contingency including dentures and crowns and bridges.

Do you know that comprehensive Dental Care can cost as little as 26 pence per day? Even with poor teeth the cost can be as low as 67 pence per day

These charges are based on a capitation scheme and include every aspect of Surgery time. The only thing a patient has to pay extra is Laboratory fees. This can mean a bill of £50.00 per crown rather than £200.00 - £400.00 per crown.

All other treatment is included in the premium. This means all fillings, root canal work and extractions are free at source.

Preventive gum treatment and visits to the hygienist are also included.

This can give great peace of mind and if dental treatment is required at expensive times of the year, like Christmas, there is no delay because of the fear of expense.

Private dentistry is here to stay and offers quality that it is not possible to offer on the NHS because of regulations and economic factors.

If you would like to discuss this further with your Dentist, with no charge and no obligation then please contact us. Patients must be dentally fit when they join the scheme and payments are made by Direct Debit on a monthly basis.
